The Renaissance

All about the Renaissance:

The Renaissance was a very important time in European history. There was many creative things and thoughts during this time. It started in Italy and was during the 15th and 16th century (1400's and 1500's) Leonardo da Vinci was a very important part of the Renaissance he did many paintings but he was most famous for painting The Mona Lisa and The Last Supper. He also drew up many drawings for inventions for: The flying machine,helicopter,wrist watch, and the motor car. 

The Last Supper

The Last Supper is also a very famous painting by Leonardo da Vinci's. It was painted in the 15 century (during the Renaissance). The painting is quite large with the size of: 4.6m-8.8m. The exact date of when the painting was painted is the date of: 1495-1498. It took Leonardo quicker to paint this large painting than it took him to paint his other painting (which is smaller). The painting is based on Jesus having his last supper.

Mona Lisa

The Mona Lisa is a very famous painting of Leonardo da Vinci. The Mona Lisa was during the years of: 1503-1517. The painting has been in the Louvre since 1797. The painting is actually very small the size is 77cm x 53cm. The Mona Lisa was painted during the Renaissance. It is the most well known painting in the world and many people around the world want to go and see the wonderful Mona Lisa.

Introducing Leonardo da Vinci:

Leonardo da Vinci was born in April 1452. He was born in Vinci which is in Italy. He was very famous during the Renaissance. He created many inventions but never had time to actually have time to make them, some of the designs were: a helicopter, bicycle, motor car and wrist watch. He also studied a lot of nature and plants. He also took a look inside the human body and would work on dead bodies. Some of the paintings he has painted are: The Mona Lisa which is in the Louvre art gallery in Paris, France and The Last Supper. He was one of the greatest artist and sculpture's of all time!
